Flathead

Southern Blue-Spot Flathead are a predominately a shallow water species...often the best areas to target them are within casting distance of the shore, especially if it is near structure like weed beds, dropoffs, reef and piers etc.

Prime season: November and March with dawn and dusk being the optimal times of day.

The last two hours of a run out tide is often the most productive, as this forces the baitfish and crustaceans off the shallow sand and weed beds and back into the deeper channels and holes.
